How to Combine Images and PDFs into One PDF on Mobile

A form wants one PDF, but you have a photo of your ID, a scanned mark sheet and a PDF certificate. Here is how to put them all into a single file on your phone.

Merge Images and PDF, Add Image to PDF, Combine PDF

Short answer: Do it in two steps. First turn the photos into a PDF at arcanizepdf.com/tools/image-to-pdf. Then open arcanizepdf.com/tools/merge, select that PDF together with your other PDFs, set the order and tap Merge PDFs. Both steps run on your phone, and nothing is uploaded.

Why it takes two steps

A PDF merger joins PDF files, so a JPG or PNG has to become a PDF first. Once everything is a PDF, merging is a single tap.

Step 1: Convert the images to PDF

  1. Open arcanizepdf.com/tools/image-to-pdf in your phone's browser.
  2. Tap Select Files and choose the photos. JPG and PNG are supported.
  3. Use the up and down arrows to put the photos in page order.
  4. Tap Create PDF.
  5. Tap Download File. The PDF is saved to your phone's downloads.

Each image is placed on its own A4 page, scaled to fit and centred.

Step 2: Merge that PDF with your other PDFs

  1. Open arcanizepdf.com/tools/merge.
  2. Tap Select Files and choose the PDF you just created along with your other PDFs. Tap Add More if they are in different folders.
  3. Use the up and down arrows to set the final order.
  4. Tap Merge PDFs.
  5. Tap Download File to save the combined PDF.

Example: one file for an application

Say a portal asks for a single PDF containing your ID, your mark sheet and a certificate.

  1. Photograph the front and back of the ID and the mark sheet.
  2. Convert those three photos to one PDF with Images to PDF.
  3. Merge that PDF with the certificate PDF.
  4. Check the page order in the result before you upload it.

Doing it in the Arcanize Android app

The Arcanize app has the same two tools and works without an internet connection.

  1. Install Arcanize from Google Play.
  2. Use Images to PDF to turn the photos into a PDF.
  3. Use Merge PDF to join it with your other PDFs.
  4. Save the combined file to your phone.

If the combined PDF is too large

Phone photos are big, and the PDF keeps their original resolution. If the result is over an upload limit:

  1. Open Compress PDF.
  2. Select the combined file.
  3. Choose Recommended, or Extreme for a strict limit.
  4. Download the smaller file.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add an image to a PDF on my phone?

Convert the image to a PDF with the Arcanize Images to PDF tool, then use Merge PDF to join it with the existing PDF. Put the files in the order you want before merging.

Can I merge a JPG and a PDF in one step?

Not directly. The merger works with PDF files, so convert the JPG to PDF first, then merge.

Will the image quality drop?

No. Images are embedded at their original resolution, and merging copies pages without recompression.

Where does the image go in the final PDF?

Wherever you place it. The merged PDF follows the order of the files in the list, so move the image PDF above or below the others with the arrows.

Are my photos and PDFs uploaded?

No. Both tools run in your browser on your own device, and the Android app works offline.
