How to remove a password from a PDF

Bank statements, bills and payslips often arrive locked, and typing the password every time gets tiring. If you know the password, you can save a copy that opens without it.

Password-protected files are usually the most sensitive ones you have. Arcanize unlocks them inside your browser, so neither the file nor the password is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I unlock a PDF without knowing the password?

No. You need the correct password. Arcanize removes a password you already know; it does not recover or crack forgotten ones.

What is the password for my bank statement PDF?

Banks usually build it from details such as your customer ID, date of birth, name or mobile number, and explain the format in the email that carries the statement. Our bank statement password list covers the formats for major Indian banks.

Is it safe to unlock a bank statement here?

The file and password are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. Remember that the unlocked copy is no longer protected, so store it carefully.

Why does it say the password is incorrect?

Check capital letters, leading zeros in dates and any spaces copied by accident. Bank passwords are case-sensitive.

Does unlocking change the content of the PDF?

No. The pages stay the same. Only the password requirement is removed from the new copy.
